Overview

Garden is a development orchestrator for Kubernetes, containers and serverless functions, designed to make it easy to rapidly develop and test multi-service systems. We want to dramatically improve developer experience and productivity and remove the tedious maintenance of individual developer environments. The project is fully open-source.

We are tackling some of the hardest problems in our industry, and are looking for passionate people who want to join us on our quest to shape the future of software development!

What you will do

As a developer advocate, you will connect with developers through different channels and by attending industry events. You will be responsible for fostering our community of developers, especially early users, collecting their feedback and directly influencing product development. You will have the unique opportunity to be the face (and voice) of the company!

Specifically, you will:

  • Evangelize Garden's mission by creating content for our blog and other channels to promote the usage, to assist with onboarding and the implementation of our products
  • Speak at user groups and conferences and sharing your expertise on developer tooling
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key players in the open-source community (especially Kubernetes) and attract new talent to work on the codebase
  • Relay community feedback with the team to help prioritize features and bugfixes to plan into releases
  • Write technical documentation and guides
  • Create educational content and instructional material to help users enjoy our products

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with a technical background that's passionate about building and leading open source communities. It helps you have previous experience in the following fields:

  • Contributing to open-source software projects and understanding the inner workings of these communities
  • Writing blog posts, tutorials, educational and other commercial content for open-source projects
  • Experience presenting to audiences at software conferences
  • Experience using Kubernetes and serverless platforms
  • Attending and organizing industry events like meetups and conferences

At Garden, we nurture a culture of freedom and responsibility. This means we give each other the space to solve problems the way we see fit, but in turn expect a high level of autonomy and accountability from everyone in the team. What's most important is that you're passionate about the problems we’re solving, and that you have a desire to learn and grow with us.

If you'd like to know more about the role, please don't hesitate to reach out to us!
