Overview

Garden is a development orchestrator for Kubernetes, containers and serverless functions, designed to make it easy to rapidly develop and test multi-service systems. We want to dramatically improve developer experience and productivity and remove the tedious maintenance of individual developer environments. The project is fully open-source.

We are tackling some of the hardest problems in our industry, and are looking for passionate people who want to join us on our quest to shape the future of software development!

What you will do

As a technical writer, your focus will be to create and manage our technical and marketing content, as well as to improve our product documentation.

More specifically, you will:

  • Create and manage the content available through our website, social media and other platforms, ensuring it's comprehensive, helpful, and on-brand.
  • Be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for our users.
  • Work with the rest of the team on updating, creating and maintaining communication guidelines, standardizing styles and standards, and documenting best practices.

What we're looking for

For this role we’re looking for someone with strong writing skills, and ideally has experience with professional content work. Experience as a developer or in a developer-related field, and understanding the challenges that Garden aims to solve, is crucial.

Specifically, we're looking for someone who:

  • Is good at taking complex topics and turning them into material that's easy to understand for people of different technical levels.
  • Is able to work autonomously and thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Wants to take an active part in evolving the culture and brand image of Garden.
  • Cares about developer tooling, workflows and product user experience.

At Garden, we nurture a culture of freedom and responsibility. This means we give each other the space to solve problems the way we see fit, but in turn expect a high level of autonomy and accountability from everyone in the team. What's most important is that you're passionate about the problems we’re solving, and that you have a desire to learn and grow with us.

We explicitly encourage applications from groups that are underrepresented in tech. We celebrate and encourage diversity of race, religion, colour, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age and thought. Diversity is easier said than done but it's one of our founding principles to provide a diverse and inclusive environment.
