What we do
Developers working on distributed microservices applications need an efficient way to build, run tests, and troubleshoot in production-like environments. Not having these environments impacts everything from developer productivity, to speed of delivery, to code quality. Most importantly, it makes software development a lot less fun.
But it doesn't have to be that way!
Garden provides devs with on-demand, production-like Kubernetes environments for integration testing, QA & code reviews, development, and more. It's our mission to make sure that every developer gets fast feedback whenever they need it, regardless of the complexity of their project.
The open source Garden Core is available on GitHub, and we also offer a fully supported enterprise edition.
What we offer
Being part of Garden means being part of a safe, progressive, diverse and inclusive environment, where mutual respect is a core value. As an employer, we nurture innovative thinking, promote autonomy and try to stay inventive and experimental at all times. We provide fair remuneration and a competitive benefits package. At Garden, you will work with state-of-the-art technology so that we can become the best in our domain. Most importantly, we try to have fun getting there. Our office is a renovated open-space office directly on Hermannplatz, well-connected via U7, U8 and several bus lines. Besides a bright and modern office, we offer a series of employee benefits like USC membership, educational budget as well as generous vacation days policy. And while most of our team is currently based in Berlin, we welcome remote applicants from time zones within three hours of Central European Time.
Who we're looking for
There is a lot we're still figuring out as we grow. Things change quickly and adjustments are needed regularly. We need people that believe in the bigger picture and are excited about joining early and actively evolving our team and processes as we scale. At Garden, we try to consistently identify where we want to go, how we can get there and push for change where needed.
We explicitly encourage applications from groups that are underrepresented in tech. We celebrate and encourage diversity of race, religion, colour, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age and thought. Diversity is easier said than done but it's one of our founding principles to provide a diverse and inclusive environment. The Hiring Process
Every applicant goes through a series of similar steps but we try to adapt to the individual needs of the applicant and the position we're hiring for. Most likely your process will look something like this:
- First call with our People Ops Manager to align on some basic expectations from both sides; introducing the company and getting a first feel.
- Second and third call with someone from the hiring team. This call is more targeted towards the product and the position in particular.
- If possible, an on-site visit where you meet and lunch with the team. Usually, a walk-through exercise will be part of your technical assessment followed by conversations with the team and founders, which should give you a better idea of what it's really like to work for Garden.
We try to be as transparent as possible throughout the process. This is as much about you finding the right position and company as it about us to finding the right candidate. Therefore, we want to make it as quick, fair and smooth of a process as possible.
